THE ELITE

ELITE PEOPLE ARE DOUBLE DEALERS

Religions and "mainstream" science in the West have evolved as pillars of the maintenance of oppressive regimes, that substantively seek to perpetuate 'Empire', rather than spread human rights .

Christianity and other organized religions were created by elites, and in the guise of spreading the message of God, was executed to spread Empire through the creation of an elite-driven religious bureaucracies. Religion was the tool that Romans, and other Empires since then, have used to pacify and oppress "the masses".

Western "science" became the secular mechanism used by the 'Empires' of the West, to correspondingly oppress the masses through the development of destructive technologies associated with a political-military-industrial complex, and through manipulated "official" pools of knowledge. These highly managed pools of knowledge are under elite ownership. These managed pools of knowledge are also collusively directed in the capitalist/socialist systems, through formal educational systems, broad socialization, and interconnected mass-media organizations from television to the print media.

The apparent conflict between "religion" and science, is a managed conflict and is a mass deception strategy through political theatre, which is orchestrated to give the appearance of an uncontrolled and critical debate. In reality, both sides of that debate are controlled by the same confederacy of elites, who are linked to the joint pursuit of 'Empire', through the opportunistic use of religion and science under capitalism.

Gnostic wisdom suggests that the "true" God of the universe is manifested in the pursuit of a consciousness associated with wisdom, peace, and love, and also on Earth by Mother Nature or 'Sophia'.

Having "blind faith" is the inculcation of self-imposed ignorance, which does not bring humanity closer to God, as presented by manipulative elites in fascistic religious organizations. Instead, in the apparent view of the Gnostics, such "faith", is orchestrated to move humanity further away from God, so that humanity can be "jerked around" by hideous intelligences.

In contrast, Gnostics recognize the critical pursuit of an appreciation of God to be essentially a "scientific exercise". Gnostics appear to appreciate understanding the complexity of reality, which empowers humanity through critical knowledge of the universe, requires scientific study, inclusive of spiritual phenomenon.

TANRI KONUŞMAZ. TANRI YAPAR.

Tanrıyı konuşturmak, Tanrı adına konuşmak, Onun ağzından konuşmak yanlıştır. "Tanrı böyle istedi,  Tanrı şöyle dedi" gibi sözler kullanmak yanlıştır. Tanrı konuşmaz. Tanrı yapar.

Tanrı sorgulanmaz, Tanrı ile ilgili konuşurken espri yapılmaz. Tanrı yargılanmaz. Tanrı kimseye Kendisini yargılama hakkı vermedi.

Tanrı herşeyin kaynağıdır.. Onu görmek mümkün değildir. Onu kavramak mümkün değildir. Tanrı hareket etmez, varlığında bir değişme olmaz.

Işığın kaynağı Tanrıdır. Tanrı Ruhtur. Tanrının takvimi ve zamanı farklıdır.

Yeshua.

INTUITION

Most people are asleep and do not realize that there exists a higher spiritual reality; it is as though they see the lower illustration, take it at face value, and assume that there is nothing more. Through the faculty of intuition, however, it is possible for the higher Mind to discern the existence of a more inclusive reality. Yeshua, is both a symbol and an expression of this higher knowledge.

Spirituality is the God's  call,  on  the  contrary  religiousness  is believing in dogmas without any inner intuition.

When you believe blindly in dogmas, actually insulting your consciousness, you are being pulled down by the darkness. With dogmas you soul will be conquered by negative feelings such as rage, hatred and fear.

But, with intuition you will be filled with unconditional Divine Love for everybody and everything meaning that you have reached the unity.

Your soul will be full of love, peace and understanding.

TO REACH YESHUA

You don't  need a religion to reach me.
All you need is love.
Only with Love in your hearts like little children you can reach me and God.
These are the steps of stairs.
Love,  Me and God.
With Love in your hearts you can reach me.
If you reach me you can reach to God.
I  couldn't  teach  that  to human beings.
You can directly reach me by love.
Declare that to all people.
They don't need any mediator.
Love God with all you soul, heart and mind and love people as yourself.
All you need is a pure heart full of love.

Yeshua.

GENDER

God's judgement regarding gender condition is final. Those who are perverted such as transgender; gays, lesbiens, bisexual, intersex,  and as such perversions, even those who accept this incidents as normal, those who make friendships with them, marries to them, who confirms and legalize this perversion, and who blesses them, anyone who feels affinity with them are going to be annihilated by God and they shall not see the eternal life.

On the contrary they shall taste the spiritual death. The intercourse between men and women are only for breeding. That is the only purpose, so that human beings can continue to exist on Earth.

Transgendering of any kind and pervert relationships are all mental illnesses. They should be treated as the other mentally ill individuals.

A  man  and a woman  promise to become one in front  of  God and become  one flesh. That  is  called  a  family  and  the essential  core  of  the healty community.

So called gays and lesbians are mentally ill and morally pervert people.
Same as fornication these  should not be accepted as normal in communities. This kind of sickness will in tima rot natural relationships. They should enter under a remedy treatment.

Those perversions are rebel against God.

DUA

Yüce Tanrım ve sevgim Yeshuanın rehberliğinde ruhum arındı ve huzuruna geldim. Benim üzerimde yapılması gereken tüm değişiklikleri yapmanı diliyorum. Dünyasal zihnim ve irademle bunu kabul ediyor ve Senin takdirine güveniyorum. Benim değil Senin dediğin olsun. Amin.

My Holy God and my love, with the guidence under Yeshua I  purified my soul and came to your precense. I beg of you to do all necessary alterations on me. With my earthly mind and will I declare that I am accepting this and I trust your foreordein. Not mine but Yours will be done.

Yeşua/Yeshua

PURE ENERGY

The souls who are awakened while still  biologically living on Earth and has reached the state of emiting God's pure energy also pulls the negative energies of unawakends and turns it into pure energy and send it back to God. Had they not been doing this energy healing, the World would have turned upside down long ago. That is what Yeshua did on a global measure once.

All of the life energy which has intellect derivates from God. God gave us everything but, alas, fewer of us believes in Him in Spirit. Most of us believes in a mighty merchant king. İf pleased, gives every sort of lust fullfilling toys othervise burns forever.

Most of us believes in a false gods in allignment with their egos for richness, virgins, wealth of no boundries, flesh and gold. All sort of wordly lusts. They are unable to perceive Spirit. The peace when filled up with that Spirit.

Eternal life and Holy Spirit does not mean anything to them. They worship gold, flesh and power giver not the Spirit.
If your children had loved you just for the money you gave them, how would you feel?  Aren't we the children of God?  How He feels?

Let's think.

Yeshua.

NUDITY IS NOT AN ART

Nudity of human beings is different when seen on photograpy. With all sort of photograph manipulation computer programs, it is a deceitful act on unconscious people and teenagers especially. Tempting to aimless sexual behaviours and, furthermore, to crimes.

Nudity, for that reason, is not an art, at least not an positive art. What is the use of it apart from feeding the sex trafficking all over the world?

Both the exposurers and the those who looks at them lustfully are guilty. One must control his feelings, ego...etc. It is the same degree badness to look at them with lust same as exposing.

Mature people must, if they are mature enough, think this matter over again...

THE WAYS

There are two ways for the souls.

One goes to life and the other goes to death. Faith is very important. Whatever you believe while you live in a physical body is what you are going to face after death. The soul does not die with body and whatever you have loaded to him/her will go with the soul.

So, don't load weakness and wrong beliefs to your soul. In addition to that your conscience knows everything and by every wrong doing of yourselves realizes that he/she shall have to face the consequences.

As for the crimes the divine justice will be working.

Think of God and His light.

Yeshua.

GOD

Do not put any other loves in between your love for God and yourselves. Love God first and before everything and everybody.

Never deny God, Almighty. Do not even argue about His oneness and divineness. He is the Source of light. He is Love. He is in and out of everything seen and unseen. Our bodies are to be the temple of The Holy Spirit. Our souls are to be the part of His Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is the active force of God so, our souls must be the home for God. All the praises and all the glory are belong to Him, to our God, to our Love. His will be done forever.

I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, that which is, that which was, and that which is to come. Revelations 1:8 - 'That quote describes "eternity", not an old man in the sky, or a god that looks like human.'

You are destroying the word of God through your traditions that you have handed down. Mark 7:13

The unseen enemies of mankind are those who are preventing humans from learning and changing. Open minded, rational humans are needed. The rest, by means of morality, will come as they start to realize that they have to have respect for themselves and, above all, for life.

If you shut the truth and the Life(God) out then you miss the mark. If you give prioity to other things by giving more emphasis to desires rather than truth, it is the only way you can commit a sin.

God is the spring of kindness, goodness and cleanness. From this clean spring, is it possible to drink dirty water? One can drink only clean water. But, if the mouths of the drinkers are dirty than the water gets dirty as well in their mouths. As such only goodness can be prayed from God. Badness cannot be prayed from Him. Badness for somebody else or curse cannot be wished from that pure Spring. Those who do this vile wishes are punished by God.

Remember; "Pray for your enemies as well".

Yeshua.

TRUTH VS RELIGIONS

WAKE UP

I am holding the key of love,  my brother. You know that God is love. So, how can they enter the Kingdom of God before reaching to full love in their hearts. That's why I have said that I was the path. I represent the love God created. I am illuminating that path that's why I have said that I was the light. And that path leads all to the Kingdom. To The Eternal Life. So, that's why I have said I was the life. That's why I have said that I came to World so that you could have life in abundance.

I hope most of you will awake before death and be taken.

Do not be a warrior. Drop your shields. Leave your passion. Leave all your addictions, fear, nerviousness. Let love be your path and light be your comrade on this path. Fill your heart with love for God and do not allow anything to violate this love. Do not put anything before your love for God. Keep calm. Do not allow nerviousness control your mind and do not let fear and infidelity fill in your heart.

Turn your face to light and let the light illimunate your face. You are neither your emotions nor your mind. You are a being above them. Be aware of your reactions. Watch them as a third person and criticize. Put them down when they are short tempered. When your mind become like a clear water reflecting all who looks at you and your emotions positive, full of love then you are eligible for becoming a part of the Holy Spirit.

RELIGIONS AND TRUTH

The truth requires a much deeper understanding. Spirituality requires that you ask questions of yourself, whilst religions requires you to rely on books to move forward. And, by doing so millions of soul's minds have been locked down. Religions has become the slave owners mental back doors. Organized religions all over the world has become politics.

Yeshua.

HOLLINESS

What it means to be holy?

This is what it means to be holy. It means deserving by our faithfull attitudes being set apart for God’s exclusive use.

“People are impatient, they want a judgment day, they want everything to be finished, they don’t want to have to live with great questions, great unresolved questions. They want God to punish others that they themselves cannot or will not punish. They think they know what justice is. And that is why the old God is filled with revenge and anger and repudiation, that people are forced to believe with the threat of death and Hell.”

The world is actually a grinding wheel and many souls and bodies are being torn a pieces and destroyed. Many will taste second death. God is light and love. There is no eternal torturing. Even for us how we would be in peace and joy knowing most of the others are in eternal pain and agony next to us? What kind of holliness is that?

SPIRITUALITY vs MIND

What Is Spirituality?

Your conscious is spiritual.  The body is just a temporary overcoat of flesh; it can't be spiritual.  The part of you that is spiritual is that part that thinks, feels, and decides how to act.  It is the part of you that loves, feels compassion, and longs for peace and brotherhood.  That part of you is your conscious. When the body is no longer useful at death, it's cast off like a tattered overcoat you no longer need or want; but the conscious continues which belongs to soul. The earthly mind which is the product of brain fades away.

Spirituality Is What You Are, Not What You Do. The total of what you have loaded to yourselves while on earth.

The physical realm is the world of beginnings and endings, creation and destruction. Matter and energy change forms as ceaselessly as the ocean’s surface rises and falls from frothy wave to wave. Trees, mountains, buildings, and human bodies are all temporary.  They're just the scenery, and when a drama is finished, the scenery is torn down to make room for another set that can contain another play.  Only we, the players, are real and eternal—our consciouses are spiritual, and our consciouses are entirely separate from the brain and physical realm.

YESHUA

GOD OF THE LIVING

God, is the God of the living not the death. Yeshua, the Son is also living and ready to help anybody and anytime who calls Him heartly. His fire is in the core of all hearts, we are to reach deep inside of our souls to contact Him. The only thing we need to achive this goal is to have pure hearts, nothing else. Seek within, the kingdom is there as well as outside. Those who are not pure, are creating wordly idelogies with sole purpose of gaining personal power and rule over others as demons...stop looking for other demons outside of strayed humans. The breath we take and give are God's breath of life. Let God's breath flow through all of us. Through all God's creatures freely and joyfully. Deep and slowly. That is called breath praying which needs no words.

GUARDING OF THE SOUL (HEART)

You want the enlightment, but you don't know what you are asking for.

Enlightment is to open to the Divine, and accepting the consequence that this openness will also open our soul to full vulnerability to the spiritual suffering of mankind, and the temptations and trials of the soul that the spiritual journey brings.

In the process of awakening, I learned that the armour we erect to prevent us from the pain of an empathic and merciful heart also keeps us from experiencing our oneness with the Divine.

At the end of the quest the seeker must divest of himself or herself every unworthy motivation and every encumbrance or defilement of the soul that keeps us from entering the chamber of the Holy with integrity.

When we have grown and matured  to the point that our own enterance to the inner sanctuary is open and armour around the heart has melted sufficiently that we can enter and warm ourselves by Yeshua's fire, then we 'ourselves' must assume also the responsibility to be guardians of the sacred Cave. We must keep watch over our own impediments of soul, over the tempting or violent contagion that may try to enter our sacred chamber. The exquisite sensivity that we have found must be protected, or the walls will come up again and prevent enterance to the Cave of the Heart.

The invading energies come from the culture we live in, the television, the internet, violent, cynical, despairing, or pornographic forms of entertainment. We must keep watch over and be our hearts guardian spirit. That includes not letting harmful, cynical, coveting, parasitic, or hateful thoughts of our own mind's creation not to gain energy or enterance or a foothold in our soul. These obsesive compulsive forms of desire and aversion are called demons. Demons of gluttony, concupiscence, avarice, sadness, anger, vainglory, pride and despair.

Walking Yeshua's secret path, and tending the secret Fire of His Presence in the heart must involve of necessity keeping watch in vigilance to protect our souls from these thought forms from gaining any power on us.

When we have no choice over some extereme experiences and influences, we are guided to seek interior refuge and spiritual protection.

"My God, You are my refuge and my protection."

CELTIC PRAYER

“You are the peace of all things calm
You are the place to hide from harm
You are the light that shines in dark
You are the heart's eternal spark
You are the door that's open wide
You are the guest who waits inside
You are the stranger at the door
You are the calling of the poor
You are my Lord and with me still
You are my love, keep me from ill
You are the light, the truth, the way
You are my Saviour this very day.”
(Ancient Celtic Prayer- Carmina Gadelica)

WHY ARE WE HERE...

We are not here to please God. We are not here to earn merits. We are not here to escape Hell. We are here to contribute because that is what will redeem you. That is how Hell will be escaped. That is how we will resonate with our Source and Creator.

No matter what our religious tradition, or if we have no religious tradition, it is the same. But the purpose of religion has been altered. It has become about hero worship and adherence to ideas and beliefs. It has degenerated over time and becomes mostly politics. It has lost its primary focus and function. They are overlaid with the ornamentation, the ritual and the human commentary associated with religion.

For a sentient being, though, the awareness of the future and the regrets from the past are an immense burden and source of suffering and misery. Only a greater purpose in life can utilize the past and the future for a greater purpose, thus relieving us from the suffering and the anxiety that they would otherwise produce in an overwhelming way.

Without the greater purpose of reaching the oneness with The Creator again, people are sedated. They are obsessed. They are addicted to drugs. They are addicted to people. They are fixated because they are trying to escape their own misery, their own anxiety, their own uncertainty, their own grievances, their own fear in all of its manifestations.

Do not condemn people for being obsessed and fixated. They are trying to escape something you are trying to escape. They are just taking the wrong path, that is all. Their approach is futile and dangerous and self-destructive.

Divine Love is the only true path which Yeshua showed us. Divine love do not possess. This love, liberates and expands our consciousness. Love means oneness of divinity, oneness of reality, oneness of the individual consciousness with the unlimited Consciousness. When we enter into the Universal Consciousness through our standings in awe before God.

CIVIL COURAGE

The state or quality of mind or spirit that enables one to face danger, fear, or vicissitudes with self-possession, confidence, and resolution; bravery.

Courage

1. the power or quality of dealing with or facing danger, fear, pain, etc

2. the courage of one's convictions the confidence to act in accordance with one's beliefs

3. take one's courage in both hands to nerve oneself to perform an action

4. obsolete mind; disposition; spirit

5. valience

We have to become immuned to all sorts of fear.
We have to have courage to get rid of all our dogmas and fake believes.
We have to be brave to leave all our lust.
We have to be brave to seek and to learn truth.
And the truth shall set us free.

MAGICK AND WITCHCRAFT

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)
Another way you could define a work of the flesh is an evil (ungodly) act that is common to human nature. In fact, it was Derek Prince who said that witchcraft is the natural religion of fallen man. When left to our own devices, man who craves power, who craves the ability to put their own will into motion, is inevitably inclined to witchcraft, be it the more subtle manipulations of people with words and actions or the more overt domination of forces and elements.
And it is not only sorcery that is condemned in Scripture, but all forms of magick.

Scripture shows us that when it comes to petitions as witchcraft often encompasses, we must absolutely not rely on our own will to be done, but rather that of God's.
In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
(Matthew 6:9-10)
There is not much difference between a prayer to God and a petition or spell for the working of magick, not much difference except whose will is being done—yours or God’s.

THE ROCK OF YESHUA'S TEACHING

God is not dictated to by Roman Emperors Or Religious Leaders...

Christians Remain Totally Ignorant Of The Spiritual Essence Of The Gospel Like The Pharisees, They Cling To The Doctrines of Men!

"Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.  And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' " (Matt 15:7-9 NKJ)

The Law Is Spiritual.
And Can Only Be Fulfilled, By A People Who Are Themselves, Spiritual.

"Do not cease seeking day or night, and do not let yourselves relax until you have found all the Mysteries of the Kingdom of Light, which will purify you and make you into Pure Light and lead you into the Kingdom of Light."

The teachings of Yeshua is not a system of beliefs but rather, the means for everyone who reads these words to know and prove the Truth for themselves.

KILL OR NOT KILL

Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. Exodus 35:2

And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. … And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. Numbers 15:32-36

Well isn’t that just peachy! God commands us not to kill but in the next breath commands us to kill anyone who does anything on the Sabbath. Can ANYONE spin this nonsense into sense? I thought not.

THE TABLETS

What Really Happened After Moses Broke The Tablets?

Exodus 32;20,
Moses made the people drink water contaminated with the toxic powder from the ashes of the golden calf, seemingly for the purpose of fatally poisoning all who had worshiped the golden calf. And then he turned brother against brother, neighbor against neighbor. Some loving God what?According to Exodus 32:35, God sent a plague upon the people.

Deut 9:21, Moses threw the toxic ashes into a brook so that the waters would carry the ashes into oblivion—without anyone being made to drink a  concocted toxic beverage.

Again contradictory stories in the inerrant bible. Can’t be. The Bible is wrong about two of the above fables.

God told Moses to kill. But in ten comandments God says "Do not kill."

Even though it was Moses who purposely broke the stones containing the words of God, God wants those who thought Moses was gone forever to be killed.

“And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour." Exodus 32:27

How can anyone believe this?

The fact is Moses never spoke to anyone on the mountain. God doesn't speak to anyone but makes pure hearts feel. Those writtings were available before Moses.

WHICH IS CORRECT

Exodus...
19:25 So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them.
20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven    above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth me..
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5.  Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9.Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass,nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

This first stones were broken by Moses.

34:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.
Exodus 34:2-4 "And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount….And he hewed two tables of stonelike unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.”

 Exodus 34:14-26

1. For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
2. Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
3. The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded    thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.
4. But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.
.5. Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
6. And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.
7. Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the LORD God, the God of Israel.
8. Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.
9. The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God.
10. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.

The 10 Commandments fail to prohibit atrocities that have been universally recognized throughout the ages as equal to or more heinous than lying, coveting, stealing or murder.

Why are not these the first six commandments ….

Thou shall not enslave.
Thou shall not torture.
Thou shall not kidnap.
Thou shall not molest children.
Thou shall not rape women.
Thou shall not commit genocide (even though I, your Lord,  did many times).

Almost universally, people will identify slavery, torture and kidnapping as the most heinous of acts one person can perpetrate on another person. Why are these heinous acts… slavery, torture, kidnapping, child molestation, rape not included in God’s list of proscribed behaviors?

Why, instead of “Thou shall not enslave“,
do we have “The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God“?Why, instead of “Thou shall not torture“,
do we have “Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the LORD God, the God of Israel.“?Why, instead of “Thou shall not kidnap“, do we have “The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt.“?Why, instead of “Thou shall not molest children“, do we have the opposite  “All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male.“? i.e. kill your firstborn son.Why instead of “Thou shall not rape women” do we have "Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk".

Why are the worst possible crimes against humanity ignored in favor of homage to God? Nowhere in the bible is there any admonishment not to do any of the above barbaric, savage atrocities.

THE SPIRIT AND TRUTH

THE WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH

“The hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

The truth centers on Yeshua's person and word, the one who is Himself “the Truth”.  It is this “word of truth”  by which we’re given new birth. Yeshua was sent by God as a model of how God wants us to be and how we should dedicate ourselves to God.

But what about “spirit"?  “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”  It’s not either-or, but both-and. For those who are new creatures in Messiah, our spirit owes its existence and vibrancy to the Spirit of God. True worship comes only from spirits made alive and sensitive by the quickening of the Spirit of God. God’s Spirit ignites and energizes our spirit.

THE MESSAGE

Matthew 7:21-29

21-23 “Knowing the correct password—saying ‘Master, Master,’ for instance—isn’t going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills. I can see it now—at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, ‘Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking.’ And do you know what I am going to say? ‘You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make yourselves important. You don’t impress me one bit. You’re out of here.’

24-25 “These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.

26-27 “But if you just use my words and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.”

28-29 When Yeshua concluded his address, the crowd burst into applause. They had never heard teaching like this. It was apparent that he was living everything he was saying—quite a contrast to their religion teachers! This was the best teaching they had ever heard.

AUTHORITY

Yeshua, teaches without footnotes; he teaches on the basis of his own authority. In the Sermon on the Mount, He says again and again, “You have heard that it was said, …but I tell you”.  His words have authority, not only to instruct but also to heal.

Yeshua has the key of the Kingdom of God. Yeshua is love and without knowing Him how can one learn love and enter the Kingdom.

We are tempted, not only by obvious sins (misuse of sex, money, and power), but are also tempted to take shortcuts in building the kingdom. “Less talk, more rock.”  Develope yourselves. Keep away from communities who are just after filling pews.

Yeshua warns against false prophets, ferocious wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing—to be known by their fruits. By Matthew’s time, the community was struggling not only against persecution from the outside, but also against false leaders on the inside.

Yeshua warns that every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Yeshua warns that only those who do the will of the Father in heaven can expect to enter the Kingdom of God.

Yeshua warns that those who fail to act on Jesus’ words are like a house built on sand—headed for a great collapse.

Each of these warnings contrasts two kinds of people—those who choose the right or wrong road—those who bear good fruit or bad—those who do or fail to do the Father’s will—and those who build on rock or sand.

The kingdom of heaven/kingdom of God is composed of those who have submitted themselves to God’s rule. Therefore, entering the kingdom of heaven means submitting to God’s rule—becoming God’s loyal subject.

The dividing line is whether we have merely professed faith or have actually done the Father’s will. “The teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is not meant to be admired but to be obeyed”.

Yeshua has Authority, capable of seeing into the innermost recesses of our spiritual hearts. It is all too easy to busy ourselves about the work of the community without stopping to reflect on whether we are obeying Yeshua—to busy ourselves with programs while neglecting people—to prepare sermons while neglecting prayer—to do great things in Yeshua’ name while neglecting Yeshua—to assume that full pews validate our ministry when, in fact, we have lost touch with the Lord.

Yeshua tells us that obedience requires poverty of spirit, mourning, meekness, hungering and thirsting for righteousness, mercy, purity of heart, and peacemaking.

 It requires us:

• To let our light shine;

. To deal with anger and to resolve conflict;

• To maintain proper marital relationships;

• To speak honestly without fanfare or oaths;

• To act in generous and loving ways—even toward our enemies;

• To give alms and to pray in secret;

• To forgive;

• To refrain from judgment;

. To observe justice, mercy, and faith.

This raises the issue of salvation by works. Are we saved by what Yeshua has done or by what we do? It would be easy to misinterpret Yeshua’ requirement to do the will of God. Yeshua is not advocating salvation by works but authentic faith that produces good fruit—that impels us to act in accord with God’s will—that leads to faithful action.

SALVATION

If you have not understood the message of Yeshua and put it into action in your life style, do not dream of salvation in vain. There are no shortcuts. One must earn this.

Matthew 7:21-27 Yeshua said: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

TRAVMA

FILLED WITH HOLY SPIRIT

WHILE LIVING ON EARTH IN FLESH

As long as you live on earth, you will not only have the Holy Spirit living inside you, but you will also have your own flesh still with you and its desire for self-gratification. Life will be a continual battle between the desire to do things your way—or God’s way. Faith is how you turn your life over to the Spirit and trust him on a daily basis. The Spirit-filled life is trusting God to produce in you the fruitful life he promised.

Choosing to listen to the Spirit and follow his leading will always be the right choice!

The word “filled” means to be directed and controlled. We must choose to yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit’s direction in our lives. We must by faith yield to the Holy Spirit to control our life—recognizing our tendencies to be self-centered and then desire for Yeshua’s life to grow in you and overcome those selfish tendencies.

Pray for faith everyday and every night.  This is a life-long battle.

TRAUMAS

When a person dies all his or her memories starts to roll from the end to beginning like a film magazine. If that person has no vile memories the magazine winds back till the very end untill reaches his or her own core. If person has bad memories film breaks off there, that's why one must clean all his/her bitter memories and traumas while living.

FAITH

Do not be afraid any longer, but believe. Everything is possible to those who believe. Have faith and you shall receive from God. If two believe together, my father in heaven will grant their request.

Whenever two or three are gathered in my name, I am present. Even if your faith is the size of a musterd seed, it will move mountains. If you believe all things to be possible what you ask or command will be done. When you pray, believe that you will receive it, and you will.

WOMEN AND VIOLENCE

Violence affects the lives of millions of women worldwide, in all socio-economic and educational classes. It cuts across cultural and religious barriers, impeding the right of women to participate fully in society.
Violence against women takes a dismaying variety of forms, from domestic abuse and rape to child marriages and female circumcision. All are violations of the most fundamental human rights.
In a statement to the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in September 1995, the United Nations Secretary-General, Boutros Boutros-Ghali, said that violence against women is a universal problem that must be universally condemned. But he said that the problem continues to grow.
The Secretary-General noted that domestic violence alone is on the increase. Studies in 10 countries, he said, have found that between 17 per cent and 38 per cent of women have suffered physical assaults by a partner.
In the Platform for Action, the core document of the Beijing Conference, Governments declared that "violence against women constitutes a violation of basic human rights and is an obstacle to the achievement of the objectives of equality, development and peace".

The Work of the Special Rapporteur

The issue of the advancement of women's rights has concerned the United Nations since the Organization's founding. Yet the alarming global dimensions of female-targeted violence were not explicitly acknowledged by the international community until December 1993, when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Until that point, most Governments tended to regard violence against women largely as a private matter between individuals, and not as a pervasive human rights problem requiring State intervention.
In view of the alarming growth in the number of cases of violence against women throughout the world, the Commission on Human Rights adopted resolution 1994/45 of 4 March 1994, in which it decided to appoint the Special Rapporteur on violence against women, including its causes and consequences.
As a result of these steps, the problem of violence against women has been drawing increasing political attention.
The Special Rapporteur has a mandate to collect and analyse comprehensive data and to recommend measures aimed at eliminating violence at the international, national and regional levels. The mandate is threefold:

  • To collect information on violence against women and its causes and consequences from sources such as Governments, treaty bodies, specialized agencies and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, and to respond effectively to such information;
  • To recommend measures and ways and means, at the national, regional and international levels, to eliminate violence against women and its causes, and to remedy its consequences;
  • To work closely with other special rapporteurs, special representatives, working groups and independent experts of the Commission on Human Rights.

Incest, Rape and Domestic Violence

Some females fall prey to violence before they are born, when expectant parents abort their unborn daughters, hoping for sons instead. In other societies, girls are subjected to such traditional practices as circumcision, which leave them maimed and traumatized. In others, they are compelled to marry at an early age, before they are physically, mentally or emotionally mature.
Women are victims of incest, rape and domestic violence that often lead to trauma, physical handicap or death.
And rape is still being used as a weapon of war, a strategy used to subjugate and terrify entire communities. Soldiers deliberately impregnate women of different ethnic groups and abandon them when it is too late to get an abortion.
The Platform for Action adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women declared that rape in armed conflict is a war crime -- and could, under certain circumstances, be considered genocide.
Secretary-General Boutros-Ghali told the Beijing Conference that more women today were suffering directly from the effects of war and conflict than ever before in history.
"There is a deplorable trend towards the organized humiliation of women, including the crime of mass rape", the Secretary-General said. "We will press for international legal action against those who perpetrate organized violence against women in time of conflict."
A preliminary report in 1994 by the Special Rapporteur, Ms. Radhika Coomaraswamy, focused on three areas of concern where women are particularly vulnerable: in the family (including domestic violence, traditional practices, infanticide); in the community (including rape, sexual assault, commercialized violence such as trafficking in women, labour exploitation, female migrant workers etc.); and by the State (including violence against women in detention as well as violence against women in situations of armed conflict and against refugee women).
In the Platform for Action adopted at the Beijing Conference, violence against women and the human rights of women are 2 of the 12 critical areas of concern identified as the main obstacles to the advancement of women.

Commitments by Governments

Governments agreed to adopt and implement national legislation to end violence against women and to work actively to ratify all international agreements that relate to violence against women. They agreed that there should be shelters, legal aid and other services for girls and women at risk, and counselling and rehabilitation for perpetrators.
Governments also pledged to adopt appropriate measures in the field of education to modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women. And the Platform called on media professionals to develop self-regulatory guidelines to address violent, degrading and pornographic materials while encouraging non-stereotyped, balanced and diverse images of women.

Defining Gender-based Abuse

The Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women is the first international human rights instrument to exclusively and explicitly address the issue of violence against women. It affirms that the phenomenon violates, impairs or nullifies women's human rights and their exercise of fundamental freedoms.
The Declaration provides a definition of gender-based abuse, calling it "any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life".
The definition is amplified in article 2 of the Declaration, which identifies three areas in which violence commonly takes place:

  • Physical, sexual and psychological violence that occurs in the family, including battering; sexual abuse of female children in the household; dowry-related violence; marital rape; female genital mutilation and other traditional practices harmful to women; non-spousal violence; and violence related to exploitation;
  • Physical, sexual and psychological violence that occurs within the general community, including rape; sexual abuse; sexual harassment and intimidation at work, in educational institutions and elsewhere; trafficking in women; and forced prostitution;
  • Physical, sexual and psychological violence perpetrated or condoned by the State, wherever it occurs.

Groundwork Is Laid in Vienna

The importance of the question of violence against women was emphasized over the last decade through the holding of several expert group meetings sponsored by the United Nations to draw attention to the extent and severity of the problem.
In September 1992, the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women established a special Working Group and gave it a mandate to draw up a draft declaration on violence against women.
The following year, the United Nations Commission for Human Rights, in resolution 1993/46 of 3 March, condemned all forms of violence and violations of human rights directed specifically against women.
The World Conference on Human Rights, held in Vienna in June 1993, laid extensive groundwork for eliminating violence against women. In the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, Governments declared that the United Nations system and Member States should work towards the elimination of violence against women in public and private life; of all forms of sexual harassment, exploitation and trafficking in women; of gender bias in the administration of justice; and of any conflicts arising between the rights of women and the harmful effects of certain traditional or customary practices, cultural prejudices and religious extremism.
The document also declared that "violations of the human rights of women in situations of armed conflicts are violations of the fundamental principles of international human rights and humanitarian law", and that all violations of this kind -- including murder, systematic rape, sexual slavery and forced pregnancy -- "require a particularly effective response".

Kinds of Violence Against Women

Domestic violence

Violence against women in the family occurs in developed and developing countries alike. It has long been considered a private matter by bystanders -- including neighbours, the community and government. But such private matters have a tendency to become public tragedies.
In the United States, a woman is beaten every 18 minutes. Indeed, domestic violence is the leading cause of injury among women of reproductive age in the United States. Between 22 and 35 per cent of women who visit emergency rooms are there for that reason.
The highly publicized trial of O. J. Simpson, the retired United States football player acquitted of the murder of his former wife and a male friend of hers, helped focus international media attention on the issue of domestic violence and spousal abuse.
In Peru, 70 per cent of all crimes reported to the police involve women beaten by their husbands.
In Pakistan, Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto strongly defended a 35-year-old mother of two who was severely burned by her husband in a domestic dispute.
"There is no excuse for such a behaviour", the Prime Minister declared after visiting the hospitalized victim. "My presence here is to send a message to all those who violate Islamic teachings and defy laws of the land with their inhuman treatment of women. This will not be tolerated."
According to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, in the 400 cases of domestic violence reported in 1993 in the province of Punjab, nearly half ended with the death of the wife.
According to the Special Rapporteur's report, many Governments now recognize the importance of protecting victims of domestic abuse and taking action to punish perpetrators. The establishment of structures allowing officials to deal with cases of domestic violence and its consequences is a significant step towards the elimination of violence against women in the family.
The Special Rapporteur's report highlights the importance of adopting legislation that provides for prosecution of the offender. It also stresses the importance of specialized training for law enforcement authorities as well as medical and legal professionals, and of the establishment of community support services for victims, including access to information and shelters.

Traditional practices

In many countries, women fall victim to traditional practices that violate their human rights. The persistence of the problem has much to do with the fact that most of these physically and psychologically harmful customs are deeply rooted in the tradition and culture of society.

Female genital mutilation

According to the World Health Organization, 85 million to 115 million girls and women in the population have undergone some form of female genital mutilation and suffer from its adverse health effects.
Every year an estimated 2 million young girls undergo this procedure. Most live in Africa and Asia -- but an increasing number can be found among immigrant and refugee families in Western Europe and North America. Indeed, the practice has been outlawed in some European countries.
In France, a Malian was convicted in a criminal court after his baby girl died of a female circumcision-related infection. The procedure had been performed on the infant at home.
In Canada, fear of being forced to undergo circumcision can be grounds for asylum. A Nigerian woman was granted refugee status since she felt that she might be persecuted in her home country because of her refusal to inflict genital mutilation on her baby daughter.
There is a growing consensus that the best way to eliminate these practices is through educational campaigns that emphasize their dangerous health consequences. Several Governments have been actively promoting such campaigns in their countries.

Son preference

Son preference affects women in many countries, particularly in Asia. Its consequences can be anything from foetal or female infanticide to neglect of the girl child over her brother in terms of such essential needs as nutrition, basic health care and education.
In China and India, some women choose to terminate their pregnancies when expecting daughters but carry their pregnancies to term when expecting sons.
According to reports from India, genetic testing for sex selection has become a booming business, especially in the country's northern regions. Indian gender-detection clinics drew protests from women's groups after the appearance of advertisements suggesting that it was better to spend $38 now to terminate a female foetus than $3,800 later on her dowry.
A study of amniocentesis procedures conducted in a large Bombay hospital found that 95.5 per cent of foetuses identified as female were aborted, compared with a far smaller percentage of male foetuses.
The problem of son preference is present in many other countries as well. Asked how many children he had fathered, the former United States boxing champion Muhammad Ali told an interviewer: "One boy and seven mistakes."

Dowry-related violence and early marriage

In some countries, weddings are preceded by the payment of an agreed-upon dowry by the bride's family. Failure to pay the dowry can lead to violence.
In Bangladesh, a bride whose dowry was deemed too small was disfigured after her husband threw acid on her face. In India, an average of five women a day are burned in dowry-related disputes -- and many more cases are never reported.
Early marriage, especially without the consent of the girl, is another form of human rights violation. Early marriage followed by multiple pregnancies can affect the health of women for life.
The report of the Special Rapporteur has documented the destructive effects of marriage of female children under 18 and has urged Governments to adopt relevant legislation.

Violence in the community

Rape

Rape can occur anywhere, even in the family, where it can take the form of marital rape or incest. It occurs in the community, where a woman can fall prey to any abuser. It also occurs in situations of armed conflict and in refugee camps.
In the United States, national statistics indicate that a women is raped every six minutes. In 1995, the case of a Brazilian jogger raped and murdered in New York City's Central Park drew international attention once again to the problem. The incident occurred only a few years after an earlier sensational jogger-assault case in which the victim -- an American assaulted in the same general area of the park -- barely survived after her assailants left her for dead.
Relations between residents of the Japanese island of Okinawa and American GIs were thrown into turmoil in 1995 after two marines and a sailor allegedly kidnapped and raped a 12-year-old girl.
The Special Rapporteur's report underlines the importance of education to sensitize the public about the special horrors of rape, and of sensitivity training for the police and hospital staff who work with victims.

Sexual assault within marriage

In many countries sexual assault by a husband on his wife is not considered to be a crime: a wife is expected to submit. It is thus very difficult in practice for a woman to prove that sexual assault has occurred unless she can demonstrate serious injury.
The report of the Special Rapporteur noted that light sentences in sexual assault cases send the wrong message to perpetrators and to the public at large: that female sexual victimization is unimportant.

Sexual harassment

Sexual harassment in the workplace is a growing concern for women. Employers abuse their authority to seek sexual favours from their female co-workers or subordinates, sometimes promising promotions or other forms of career advancement or simply creating an untenable and hostile work environment. Women who refuse to give in to such unwanted sexual advances often run the risk of anything from demotion to dismissal.
But in recent years more women have been coming forward to report such practices -- some taking their cases to court.
In her report, the Special Rapporteur stressed that sexual harassment constitutes a form of sex discrimination. "It not only degrades the woman", the report noted, "but reinforces and reflects the idea of non-professionalism on the part of women workers, who are consequently regarded as less able to perform their duties than their male colleagues."

Prostitution and trafficking

Many women are forced into prostitution either by their parents, husbands or boyfriends -- or as a result of the difficult economic and social conditions in which they find themselves. They are also lured into prostitution, sometimes by "mail-order bride" agencies that promise to find them a husband or a job in a foreign country. As a result, they very often find themselves illegally confined in brothels in slavery-like conditions where they are physically abused and their passports withheld.
Most women initially victimized by sexual traffickers have little inkling of what awaits them. They generally get a very small percentage of what the customer pays to the pimp or the brothel owner. Once they are caught up in the system there is practically no way out, and they find themselves in a very vulnerable situation.
Since prostitution is illegal in many countries, it is difficult for prostitutes to come forward and ask for protection if they become victims of rape or want to escape from brothels. Customers, on the other hand, are rarely the object of penal laws.
In Thailand, prostitutes who complain to the police are often arrested and sent back to the brothels upon payment of a fine.
The extent of trafficking in women and girl children has reached alarming proportions, especially in Asian countries.
Many women and girl children are trafficked across borders, often with the complicity of border guards. In one incident, five young prostitutes burned to death in a brothel fire because they had been chained to their beds. At the same time, sex tours of developing countries are a well-organized industry in several European and other industrialized countries.
The Special Rapporteur has called on Governments to take action to protect young girls from being recruited as prostitutes and to closely monitor recruiting agencies.

Violence against women migrant workers

Female migrant workers typically leave their countries for better living conditions and better pay -- but the real benefits accrue to both the host countries and the countries of origin.
For home countries, money sent home by migrant workers is an important source of hard currency, while receiving countries are able to find workers for low-paying jobs that might otherwise go unfilled.
But migrant workers themselves fare badly, and sometimes tragically. Many become virtual slaves, subject to abuse and rape by their employers.
In the Middle East and Persian Gulf region, there are an estimated 1.2 million women, mainly Asians, who are employed as domestic servants. According to the independent human rights group Middle East Watch, female migrant workers in Kuwait often suffer beatings and sexual assaults at the hands of their employers.
The police are often of little help. In many cases, women who report being raped by their employers are sent back to the employer -- or are even assaulted at the police station.
Working conditions are often appalling, and employers prevent women from escaping by seizing their passports or identity papers.
The report of the Special Rapporteur draws attention to the fact that there are many international instruments that can be used to prevent abuse against migrant women and suggests some measures to protect the human rights of migrant women.

Pornography

Another concern highlighted in the Special Rapporteur's report is pornography, which represents a form of violence against women that "glamorizes the degradation and maltreatment of women and asserts their subordinate function as mere receptacles for male lust".

Violence perpetrated or condoned by States

Custodial violence against women

Violence against women by the very people who are supposed to protect them -- members of the law enforcement and criminal justice systems -- is widespread.
Women are physically or verbally abused; they also suffer sexual and physical torture. According to Amnesty International, thousands of women held in custody are routinely raped in police detention centres worldwide. The report of the Special Rapporteur underlines the necessity for States to prosecute those accused of abusing women while in detention and to hold them accountable for their actions.

Violence against women in situations of armed conflict

Rape has been widely used as a weapon of war whenever armed conflicts arise between different parties. It has been used all over the world: in Chiapas, Mexico, in Rwanda, in Kuwait, in Haiti, in Colombia.
Women and girl children are frequently victims of gang rape committed by soldiers from all sides of a conflict. Such acts are done mainly to trample the dignity of the victims. Rape has been used to reinforce the policy of ethnic cleansing in the war that has been tearing apart the former Yugoslavia.
The so-called "comfort women" -- young girls of colonized or occupied countries who became sexual slaves to Japanese soldiers during the Second World War -- have dramatized the problem in a historical context. Many of these women are now coming forward and demanding compensation for their suffering from Japanese authorities. "Such rape is the symbolic rape of the community, the destruction of the fundamental elements of a society and culture -- the ultimate humiliation of the male enemy", the report by the Special Rapporteur noted. It stressed the need to hold the perpetrators of such crimes fully accountable.

Violence against refugee and displaced women

Women and children form the great majority of refugee populations all over the world and are especially vulnerable to violence and exploitation. In refugee camps, they are raped and abused by military and immigration personnel, bandit groups, male refugees and rival ethnic groups. They are also forced into prostitution.
In her report, the Special Rapporteur proposes the following measures to be taken for the protection of women and girls in refugee camps: improvement of security, deployment of trained female officers at all points of the refugees' journey, participation of women in organizational structures of the camps and prosecution of government and military personnel responsible for abuse against refugee women.

Legal steps to criminalize violence against women

In recent years some countries have taken significant steps towards improving laws relating to violence against women. For example:

  • In July 1991, Mexico revised its rape law in several important ways. A provision was eliminated that allowed a man who rapes a minor to avoid prosecution if he agrees to marry her. Now judges are required to hand down a decision regarding access to an abortion within five working days.
  • On 9 June 1994, the Organization of American States adopted the Inter-American Convention to Prevent, Punish and Eradicate Violence against Women (also called Convention of Belém do Parà), a new international instrument that recognizes all gender-based violence as an abuse of human rights. This Convention provides an individual right of petition and a right for non-governmental organizations to lodge complaints with the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights.
  • In Australia, a National Committee on Violence against Women was established to coordinate the development of policy, legislation and law enforcement at the national level as well as community education on violence against women.
  • In 1991, the Government of Canada announced a new four-year Family Violence Initiative intended to mobilize community action, strengthen Canada's legal framework, establish services on Indian reserves and in Inuit communities, develop resources to help victims and stop offenders, and provide housing for abused women and children.
  • In Turkey, a Ministry of State for Women was established whose main goals are, among others, to promote women's rights and strengthen their role in economic, social, political and cultural life. Legal measures are being adopted towards the elimination of violence against women. The establishment of special courts to deal with violence is envisaged. Psychological treatment for abused women is also planned, along with the establishment of women's shelters around the country. Specially trained female police officers could provide assistance to victims of violence.
  • In Burkina Faso, a strong advertising campaign by the Government as well as television and radio programmes on the unhealthy practice of genital mutilation were launched to educate and raise public awareness about the dangerous consequences of such an "operation". A National Anti-Excision Committee was established in 1990 by the present head of State. Today, the practice of genital mutilation has been eliminated in some villages of Burkina Faso. In others, there has been an incredible drop in the number of girls excised: only 10 per cent of the girls are excised compared to 100 per cent 10 years ago.
  • Some countries have introduced police units specially trained for dealing with spousal assault. In Brazil, specific police stations have been designated to deal with women's issues, including domestic violence. These police stations are staffed entirely by women.

Ensuring That Laws Are Obeyed

These examples illustrate some steps taken at the national level towards the eradication of violence against women. Combating and eradicating this scourge require enhanced and concerted efforts to protect women at the local, national and international levels.
States have tended to adopt a passive attitude when confronted by cases of violations of women's rights by private actors. Most laws fail to protect victims or to punish perpetrators. Passing laws to criminalize violence against women is an important way to redefine the limits of acceptable behaviour.
States should ensure that national legislation, once adopted, does not go unenforced. State responsibility is clearly underlined in article 4 of the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women, which stipulates that "States should exercise due diligence to prevent, investigate and, in accordance with national legislation, punish acts of violence against women, whether those acts are perpetrated by the State or by private persons".
Any approach designed to combat violence must be twofold, addressing the root causes of the problem and treating its manifestations. Society at large, including judges and police officers, must be educated to change the social attitudes and beliefs that encourage male violence.

Challenging Traditional Attitudes

The meaning of gender and sexuality and the balance of power between women and men at all levels of society must be reviewed. Combating violence against women requires challenging the way that gender roles and power relations are articulated in society. In many countries women have a low status. They are considered as inferior and there is a strong belief that men are superior to them and even own them.
Changing people's attitude and mentality towards women will take a long time -- at least a generation, many believe, and perhaps longer. Nevertheless, raising awareness of the issue of violence against women, and educating boys and men to view women as valuable partners in life, in the development of a society and in the attainment of peace are just as important as taking legal steps to protect women's human rights.
It is also important in order to prevent violence that non-violent means be used to resolve conflict between all members of society. Breaking the cycle of abuse will require concerted collaboration and action between governmental and non-governmental actors, including educators, health-care authorities, legislators, the judiciary and the mass media.
