This biological life you are in is unkown but your soul knows the after life. If you go deep inside yourself you will see that your soul is aware of what you are going to face with your current attidutes in the afterlife. Material world is unkown. You never know what you will come across tomorrow. So, one must know that the unkown is material world where as afterlife is the known.
